Looking for a weekend get away close to Ankara, Ertuğrul Özakdemir, a senior architect and a dear friend, mentioned about this plot.
As we went there together, we have met our three leveled small garden with few young trees and a cute water channel.
In the summer of 1993, we started looking for workmen at the local coffee shops, and initiated the construction of our 36 m2 triangular house. We completed the construction in one month.
The very well mannered and strong workmen without initial experience of masonry, not only layed the foundation but also built the stone walls with great commitment and dedicated efforts.
This mono-space house, without rooms or doors, left the local women of Ayaş astounded.
Our kids learnt and loved the pleasure of growing trees and harvesting fruits in this house and grew up here.
Our masterpiece in Ankara Ayaş Karadere, our little stone house and its garden, still keeps on making us happy.
